Labnaf Strategy & Architecture Framework
Labnaf is a highly
customizable modeling language and framework that semantically merges and
extends standards into a meaningful architecture workflow. The framework
features some extensive and configurable modeling language and tools along with
pragmatic on-line documentation.
The strategy, architecture and
planning standards that have been semantically merged into the Labnaf framework include ArchiMate, BPMN, UML, TOGAF, SAFe, Strategy Map, Gartner
EA Stage Planning, IT4IT, PESTEL
Analysis, Porter's
Five Forces Analysis and Business Model Generation.
The Labnaf enterprise
transformation method, the modeling language and the repository structure are
independent of their software implementation.
The current software
implementation is provided as a robust Sparx Enterprise Architect software extension. Sparx is
the most common, yet affordable, modeling platform (more than 580 000 licenses
worldwide). The scalable architecture
repository provides numerous concurrent users with enterprise visibility and
traceability across many dimensions.
“Automation
by Nature” is the name of an approach for creating homogenous specifications of
heterogeneous systems that are not necessarily intentional and that can involve
humans, software and machinery. The consistency of the approach is enforced by
some natural semantics and ontology.
In
practice, the approach can be used for the design and composition of
specification languages (including enterprise architecture modeling languages),
development processes and software product lines.
Creating and Integrating Domains
This article
discusses some domain specific challenges that we face when creating and
integrating domain specific software factories and languages.
